1 Saturday, June 14, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Card Weaving Taught by Cathy Hill, 12+ $70 Members / $77 Non-member Card Weaving (also known as tablet weaving) allows weavers to work and play with color and design without having to invest in a lot of expensive equipment. Card weaving involves using cards to organize threads, so that students can weave a tape - a long thin band which could be used for things like bookmarks, decoration on clothing or ukulele straps! The class will be 5 hours with a lunch break built in. The class fee includes all necessary materials. No experience necessary! The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. Cathy has been doing been various textile handwork - sewing, weaving, spinning, bobbin lace, needlework - for most of her life. She had her first experiences with spinning and weaving at the age of eight. One of her greatest joys is teaching others and sharing her knowledge.
