Keith Jessop and Diana Stambaugh established the Greater Newark Boys and Girls Club Swim Team in 1997 with about 29 swimmers, dubbing ourselves “The Best Little Team in Delaware.” Our goal? To give all swimmers, regardless of their talent and abilities, the opportunity to be great. We wanted to provide swimmers with superior stroke technique and mechanics. Our “Little” team now averages about 200+ swimmers, but we still consider ourselves the Best Little Team in the state, still focusing on the betterment of each individual swimmer in and out of the water.

We swim out of the Greater Newark Boys & Girls Club on Route 40. The team is a registered member of USA Swimming as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware (GNBC). We participate in local dual meets, USA Approved meets, USA sanctioned meets, and the Boys & Girls Clubs National Swimming Championships.
