Gather ‘round a cozy campfire after a short dusk hike to learn about the nocturnal nature of Rockwood Park with an environmental educator. Learn how to make an owl call, listen for bats in the night, and gaze at the stars. S’mores will be provided.
Program Information: -Program is held outdoors. -Guardians are required to accompany participants, no drop-offs. -Closed-toe shoes are required, hiking footwear is recommended. Trails have periodic benches for resting. -Distance traveled will be between 0.5 and 1 mile. -It is recommended to dress participants in weather-appropriate clothing and bring a water bottle and a flashlight. -Food will be provided: regular graham crackers, regular marshmallows, and Hershey’s brand chocolate squares. If participants need substitutions, it is advised to bring them.
