Traverse and observe the fascinating geologic landscape of Rockwood Park. Participants will hike to explore the geology and history of the park through an educator-led geology scavenger hunt. Hike involves paved and unpaved trails, and creek-bed exploration. Close-toed shoes required.
Program Information: -Program is held outdoors. -At least one adult is required to accompany juvenile participants. -Hiking footwear is recommended. Trails have periodic benches for resting. -Distance traveled will be between 1 and 1.5 miles. -Outdoor surfaces traveled on in this program include: paved trails, dirt trails with roots and uneven surfaces, creek beds with rocks and sand, and steep hills. -This program includes visual and tactile elements.
