This experience is an invitation to enjoy the contemplative nature of sea kayaking through the practice of mindfulness. This is for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. Our mindfulness trained guides will invite you to practice non-striving on the water, with "no place to go and no place to be", just being present to savor the beauty of the South Salish Sea. You'll learn how to practice letting go of stress by cultivating beginners mind, to overcome fear or other worries that have prevented you from enjoying nature outings. We'll launch from the gentle shores of Gallagher Cove before gliding into Totten Inlet-often greeted by sea otters, blue herons, osprey, jelly fish and more. This trip is designed to be relaxing and awe-inspiring by cultivating pleasure through the beauty of more than the human world. Whether you're an avid paddler or have no experience, this trip has something for everyone. We'll provide thorough instruction focused on safety and all necessary equipment. All you need to bring is your sense of adventure, a curious mind and an open heart. Instructor Jennifer Hurst.
