Description

Students will be instructed how to play iconic songs featured in films and TV shows or by artists who helped spotlight and popularize the ukulele. Featured songs include Elvis Presley’s “Ku ‘u ipo” from the film, Blue Hawaii," Tonight You Belong to Me” (as performed by Steve Martin & Bernadette Peters from the movie, The Jerk), Israel Kamakawiwo?ole’s reimagined rendition of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” plus songs from Train, Meghan Trainor, Grace Vanderwaal, and even some cute or quirky ukulele songs like The Muppets’ “Ukulele Lady." Pré-requisite: Yes, You Can Play the Ukulele, Part 1 (or similar intro class) orbe self-taught and be able to play at least 7 chords and transition between them. Bring you soprano, concert, or tenor uke (No baritone ukes, please!) a pick, and a uke capo to class. No loaner instruments are available. Instructor: Jeff Saxon
