Description
In this course students will learn to sculpt the full human form in clay. Working on 12-inch-tall figure sculptures, we will focus on creating realistic proportions to scale in our work. We will use armatures for supporting solid sculpting and learn how to hollow our work for firing. During the course we will use photo references for inspiration as well as instructional handouts. Understanding how to block in realistic shapes for depicting the figure is the basis of this class, but students will also have the freedom to alter their sculpture creatively!
