Description
The PADI Open Water Diver course includes three parts.
1. Knowledge Development: This covers the principles, concepts, and terms you need to know for dive safety and enjoyment. This portion of the course will be completed in person on a varied schedule. The instructor will contact each student to schedule a time to meet with each student. Students will also be fitted for scuba gear during this time.
2. Confined Water Dives: Students will learn and practice scuba skills in a pool. The pool session(s) will be Sunday, August 10 | 10 am - 5 pm. at Marie Kerr Park Pool
3. Open Water Dives: This will complete your training in this course in a two-day ocean setting. One day will have three dives from a boat at one local island. The second day will be at a beach where you will learn beach diving techniques. The beach days are typically 4 hours, and the boat dive is an all-day session.
Pre-Requisites: Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification.
The minimum age requirement is 10 years old.
Parents or legal guardians must be present at all in-water pool, boat, and beach sessions.
An additional $639 materials fee will be due to the instructor.

Additional Materials Fee includes: eLearning registration, dive boat charter, certification card fee and use of scuba gear listed:
1. Wetsuit
2. Dive Hood
3. Regulator with dive computer
4. Weights
5. Tank and BCD
Personal gear that is not included and must be provided by the student:
1. Masks
2. Snorkels and fins
3. Dive boot and gloves
