Description
Weight management: its more than just a number on the scale.
This presentation is designed to help participants gain a better understanding of the underlying reasons for weight gain and the complexities of weight loss. Why we should focus more on fat loss instead of just the number on the scale. During this class, participants will be led in discussion on the weight loss tool kit - a comprehensive approach to weight management on how to optimize lifestyle choices for health and weight loss, and a look at the latest buzz on anti-obesity medication options that includes addressing optimal nutrition, physical activity, behavior modification(quality sleep & stress management) and medication /pharmacological used in weight loss. It's never too late to make changes that can improve muscle, metabolic, and overall health!
Level of Instruction: All levels welcome
Program Objectives:
- Understand the underlying causes for weight gain and the varying/individualized approaches to effective weight loss
- Develop a self-plan utilizing the weight loss tool kit
- Discuss the reality behind various lifestyle choices and alternative approaches to effectively lose weight and maintain a healthy body weight
Instructor Biography: Tina Lonneman has been a nurse practitioner for 23 years, specializing in Women's Health, Family Medicine, Endocrinology and Bariatric/Obesity Medicine. Tina's passion is to provide a connection from experience in medical/clinical background to outreach for the community through education, coaching and support systems for each individuals own health journey!
