About this event
Description

Gather around a campfire at one of your favorite parks this fall for a series of engaging and informative chats. Each week Park Rangers and local experts will lead discussions on a different theme, exploring topics about conservation, history, culture, music, and more. Bring a portable camp chair and share s’mores and stories by the fire, or sit back, relax, and enjoy the evening.
This week: Come visit Downs Park for an informative talk all about the Spotted Lanternfly! An expert from the Maryland Department of Agriculture will share all about the Lanternfly and current prevention methods. This talk will also feature a K9 unit from Mid-Atlantic Dogs Search and Rescue trained in egg mass detection. Participants will enjoy s'mores by the warm historic fireplace at the Brightwater Pavilion. We hope to see you there!

A $5.00 registration fee covers program costs. S’mores supplies will be provided. For more information please contact Park Ranger Quinn Newbill at rpnewb20@aacounty.org.
