as we continue an Easter tradition at the
Peoria Sports Complex!
The Cottontail Dash is an untimed half mile fun run with an egg hunt along the route. All participants receive a finisher's medal and a shirt.
You are welcome to bring your own bag/basket or one will be provided for you. Eggs are handed out by volunteers so that everyone will come away with equal amount of eggs.
Parents who only want to accompany their children on the course do not need to register.
This event is limited to 1500 participants.

Virtual Run Details
Of course we want you to participate in the Hippity Hop event locally but we understand things come up. So, if you can't join us on race day and still want to run, get the medal and the shirt then you still can! Here is your chance to take part in this event no matter where you are! And of course, all prices include shipping! Please note that all items will ship following the event on March 28th.

Age Group Awards for Top Three in all Age Groups for the half marathon, 10K and 5K only (race day participants only). Our age groups are the following:
- 8 & Under, 9 & 10, 11-13, 14-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & Over
Pre- and Post-Race "Runner's Brunch" (granola bars, fruit, water, Gatorade, etc)
Chip Timed with Real Time Results and Photos on our Website or Mobile App (on Apple and Google)

Please note any race related items (shirts, medals, etc.) will NOT be mailed to those that do not attend.
Cottontail Dash
Cottontail Dash is an untimed half mile fun run with an egg hunt along the route. All participants receive a finisher's medal and a shirt. You are welcome to bring your own bag/basket or one will be provided for you. Eggs are handed out by volunteers so that everyone will come away with equal amount of eggs. Parents who only want to accompany their children on the course do not need to register. This event has a 125 person limit.
Due to the overwhelming popularity of this event and to protect our littlest Cottontail participants we will be splitting the dash into 2 waves. Ages 6 and under and ages 7 and older. Parents who would like their children to run together please choose one of the waves to participate in.
Race Day Information
Race Day Registration will be available beginning at 6:00am.
We accept cash, and credit cards on race day (checks are no longer accepted)

- Half Marathon - $90
- 10K - $60
- 5K - $50
- Cottontail Dash - $30
We welcome wheelchairs, strollers & wagons.
No roller blades, skateboards or motorized devices are allowed on the run or walk courses.
Leashed pet friendly
The course will take you through the open use trails (all asphalt and concrete) of the New River Trail System, starting and ending at Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria - meaning no need for transportation before or after the race just to get back to your car! Please note - this is an open use trail system and does not close for our event.
Due to the common start/finish line, there is no bag check for this event.
This event will take place rain or shine. There are no refunds or transfers due to weather.
There is a 4 hour time limit for the half marathon and 10K distances.

Water Station and Course Support
Water and Gatorade will be located at the following locations:
- Half Marathon: Miles 1.55, 3.11, 4.5, 6, 7.3 (turnaround), 8.5, 10.1, and 11.55
- 10K - Miles 1.55 3.11 (turnaround), 4.66
- 5K - Mile 1.55
GU Gels will be available for half marathon runners at miles 6 and 8.5
Restrooms will be located at:

- PLEASE NOTE: The restrooms at mile 2.5 and 10.6 will be located off the course in Rio Vista Park (next to the running path/trail and playground structure).
