About this event
Did you know there are more than 7,500 varieties of apples in the world? The apples we enjoy today are the result of thousands of years of science and global exchange. On this special apple-themed day, students will embark on an apple journey of their own. They will spoon for apples, explore the history of apples in Pennsylvania through the story of the legendary pioneer Johnny Appleseed, and make a handmade apple-shaped book. Of course, the day wouldn’t be complete without sampling some delicious apple varieties ranging from tart to sweet in a delicious taste test. Programs run from 9:00am - 3:00pm, with drop-off available between 8:00 - 9:00am and prompt pick-up between 3:00 - 4:00pm. Drop-off & pick-up will take place at the front desk of the Lombard campus. There is a scheduled snack break and lunch time for all students. Each student must bring a packed lunch (with a drink) from home.
