About this event
In this club, students become both musicians and inventors as they explore the science and art of sound. Together they will build real, working instruments—like shakers, tambourines, xylophones, pan flutes, and kazoos—using everyday materials each week. Then they’ll bring them to life by learning rhythms, composing simple songs, and performing with classmates. Everyone will learn what rhythm is and how to keep a steady beat, create and play percussion and wind instruments, explore how sound works through hands-on building, compose short musical pieces using their own instruments, and perform original songs and explain their creative process in a final showcase. This semester will blend music, science, and creativity to build foundational skills in rhythm, melody, and performance. Vineyard strives to teach students critical 21st-century skills through real world projects under the guidance of experienced teachers. By launching their apps, participants immediately see the impact on their community and achieve transformational outcomes they can be proud of. These personal growth moments are empowering and spark a love for entrepreneurship. Read more here! (Please note: There are no sessions on Oct 2 & 30, Nov 27. This is a hands-on, project-based club focused on making and playing music—not formal theory instruction. No prior experience is needed.)
