Religion on the Rocks: Hohokam Petroglyphs and Ritualism at South MountainSaturday, November 1, 20259:00 am - 1:00 pmJoin us at the South Mountain Visitor Center for a special program featuring Dr. Aaron Michael Wright of Archaeology Southwest. Esteemed author and researcher, Dr. Wright is a leading authority on Southwestern Anthropology, specifically related to Hohokam Rock Art in South Mountain Park. His research has been published in his award-winning book, Religion on the Rocks: Hohokam Rock Art, Ritual Practice and Social Transformation.
Dr. Wright will present on Hohokam Petroglyphs and Ritualism at South Mountain, and the presentation will be followed by a guided hike that will highlight some of these culturally significant areas within the park.
The presentation will begin at 9:00 am with the guided Petroglyph hike to follow, concluding by 1:00 pm.
