JAPANESE CULTURE CLUB
NEW! Konnichiwa! This new class will explore the language and culture of Japan! Students will be introduced to writing scripts (hiragana and katakana) with a selection of kanji and conversational phrases followed by calligraphy of their own name. Lessons on the history and development of manga and anime will help them create their own characters and comic strip, along with class discussions Hayao Miyazaki's celebrated Ghibli Studio movies. A virtual passport tour of the largest cities of Japan will show students major places of interest and cooking days will have students making their own sushi rolls and onigiri and trying mochi and much more!
