Description
Recommended: Completed Swimmer 4.
These swimmers will master dives and tuck jumps in deep water. The will further their swim to survive skills by learning forward rolls, tread water for 90 seconds and swim 75m. They will put their breaststroke arms, breathing and kick together to do 25m of breast stroke and they will work on 50m of front and back crawl. They will also work on fitness with interval training.
Participants are evaluated based on performance criteria and progress to Swimmer 6 once all criteria have been successfully completed.

Recommended: Completed Swimmer 5.
These swimmers will become proficient at deep water skills including stride entries and compact jumps (cannonballs). They’ll develop lifesaving kicks such as eggbeater and scissor kick. Breaststroke for 50m and swim front and back crawl for 100m. Head-up swims, interval training and a 300m workout develop strength and endurance.
Participants are evaluated based on performance criteria and progress to Swimmer 7 - Rookie Patrol once all criteria have been successfully completed.
PLEASE BE ADVISED: Swimmers and parents are to arrive just prior to class starting. There will be no public swim available during swim lesson times. For those with children under 7 years old, a reminder that you will be required to be on deck while your child is in their lesson.
DISCLAIMER: Children must be enrolled in the correct class for their ability. If you are unsure of your child’s swim level, bring them in for a free swim assessment prior to registration. The assessment can be arranged during any public swim session. If your child has been incorrectly enrolled, we reserve the right to withdraw them.
