Celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week and fall's World Migratory Bird Daywith birding's most sedentary event, The Big Sit. The concept is simple: find a good spot for bird watching, sit in one spot for a designated time,and count all the bird species you see or hear. We invite you to stop by our spot. Tips for creating Shared Spaces that support birds will also be shared at this fun event. Hosted by Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge and McHenry County Audubon Society with support from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and McHenry County Conservation District. The event will be held on the sidewalk overlooking the marsh at Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12. Se proveerá servicios en Español. - Children ages 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
