About this event

Description

All of us know that plants can’t move, right? Yet, a species like common ragweed grows across hundreds of millions of acres in North America and has occurred sporadically in the prairies of the region for tens of thousands of years. How did it follow the glacier northward? Burs grab onto animal fur, winged fruits sail on the wind, and succulent fruits are eaten and excreted by birds, but how about the thousands of other species with small inconspicuous seeds that lack any of these features? Asking and answering this question is a key part of understanding how vegetation changes and why we do ecological restoration today.
Once you've signed up, we'll send you a virtual meeting invitation with instructions on how to join the webinar. If you're not able to make it, we'll be recording these webinars so you can view them afterwards on our @DiscoverMCCD YouTube channel under the Tom Talks playlist.
These were developed for our volunteers, but are free and open to anyone.
