About this event
“Let’s start at the very beginning, a very good place to start!” If you’re a Sound of Music fan, you’re already familiar with the idea of beginning with "do, re, mi"! Solfège is a system where each note of a musical scale is assigned a unique syllable, helping students sing and recognize those notes every time they appear. In this class, you will begin building a foundation in solfège, learning the musical alphabet, musical notation, and how to effectively hear and sing music. Solfège is widely used in conservatories and music schools to improve sight-reading, ear training, and music theory understanding. This class is a great tool for anyone looking to deepen their musical knowledge, whether singing on your own, in church, or in a choir. Students will need to purchase “Solfège de Solfèges, Book 1 by A Dannhauser” before class.
