About this event
This tiniest dabbling duck of North America is common to Maine, some even overwinter. This beautiful bird is distinguished by the wide, green stripe on its cinnamon head and the vertical slashes of white on its sides. For experienced carvers only, intermediate and up. A $40 materials fee is to be paid to the instructor who supplies basswood blanks, eyes, paints, and brushes. Bring your own high quality tools (instructor recommends FlexCut, Two Cherries, and Pfeil Swiss-Made brands)—a minimum of a ¾ to 1" straight chisel, a ¼ and ⅜ round gouge, a #7 x ⅜ fishtail gouge, and as much reference material as possible to aid in carving and painting. Class skips 10/23.
