About this event
We will begin with an historical review of redwork—a form of embroidery popular in the 1800s—examing historical samples and techniques used. We will design and create an embroidered panel of native flora or fauna of our choice. Participants will choose photos, drawings, or prints of chosen subjects and transfer designs to cloth. Using basic redwork stiches—back, running, stem stitches, and French knots—for different line quality, we will quilt the panel and border. All levels of embroiderers welcome! Come prepared to do some cooperative learning, sharing, and creating! Visit our webste or call for supply list.
