From Forest to Future: Exploring Careers in Forestry & Conservation

C.O.O.R. Advanced Technical Innovation Center • Roscommon Middle School 299H Sunset Dr. RoscommonMI  48653 Organized by MiSTEM Network

About this event

Discover the exciting careers that keep Michigan’s forests and parks thriving! Spend the morning at Hartwick Pines State Park, where you'll explore the roles of park rangers, historians, and naturalists who protect and interpret our natural resources. Learn about forestry careers, the essential work they do, and the specialized tools they use in the field. In the afternoon, take a behind-the-scenes tour of AJD Forest Products in Grayling, one of the region’s leading forest product companies. See firsthand how sustainable forestry supports the industry and learn about the careers available in lumber production, mill operations, and environmental management. If you love the outdoors and want to explore the science, conservation, and industry behind our forests, this is the camp for you! Please Note: To ensure equitable access, we kindly ask that each educator limits their initial registration to two externship opportunities. This will allow as many participants as possible to take advantage of these experiences. After the first two weeks of registration, we will open remaining spots to those interested in additional opportunities. Thank you for your understanding and support!
