Advisor Name: Bin Li Email: austinlibin11@hotmail.com Description: This club gives members a rewarding opportunity to learn key concepts in statistics while getting hands-on experience in data analysis and research. We will discuss essential topics in statistics including basic sampling methods, probability, linear regression, simulation-based inference, etc. and tackle thought-provoking problems; we will also introduce students to the use of statistics in various interdisciplinary areas. Optional take-home practice will be provided to help reinforce course material. Particularly ambitious members will be encouraged to represent our school at the American Statistical Association Project Competition, where contenders will defend their stance on a research question using statistical techniques and present their work in a research paper.
