Do you have the best dessert on the block? Are your cookies the talk of the town? It’s time to put your baking to the test! Fall Bake-Off
Join us at the Scotts Valley Fall Festival and show off your baking skills. Whether it’s pies, cookies, cobblers, cakes or other fun treats—we want to see (and taste!) what you’ve got!
How it works: Guests will purchase tasting tickets to sample your dessert, our panel of judges will taste every entry, and we’ll announce the winners during the festival.

Rules & Guidelines: Please review the following rules carefully before registering.

• Only one entry per person. Competitor must be an individual (not a business or organization).
• Open to kids, teens, and adults of all ages.
• Amateur bakers only. Professionals may not compete. A professional is defined as someone who: Works for or owns a bakery or catering company sells desserts for profit
• Desserts must be homemade from scratch. No store-bought crusts, fillings, or mixes allowed.
• Sweet, dessert items only. No savory desserts permitted.

Registration Pre-registration is required:

• Online registration only (no in-person sign-ups).
• Registration Deadline: November 1, 2024

What You Must Provide:

• Each participant must bring: One (1) full dessert for display only
• Enough additional dessert to serve up to 150 people (2 oz. sample per person)
• Disposable cups/plates/cutlery to serve samples
• Your own tablecloth, and display sign A sign with: Dessert title Brief description, Baker’s name, Notation of any dietary restrictions (e.g., Gluten-Free, Vegan, Contains Nuts, etc.) - we'll provide table

Important Notes:

• No refrigeration, heating, or electricity will be available.
• Booths must remain set up until the end of the event (3:00 PM) Please do not pack up early, even if you run out of samples.
• Taste samples are distributed only when a spectator presents a taste ticket.
• Booth decorations are encouraged to show off your fall spirit!
• Judging Criteria A panel of judges will sample each dessert and score entries based on: General Appearance – 25% Originality – 25% Flavor – 50%
