About this event
Description
Sunday, January 18th, 2026 @ 1:30 - 2:30 pm
Tuition: $30.00
Instructor: Dikla Kafka
Description: This one-hour workshop is designed specifically for musicians. We’ll address common physical and mental challenges that arise from long hours of practice and performance, such as tension in the neck, back, and shoulders, wrist and finger mobility, and overall body alignment.
Through accessible yoga-based exercises, breathing techniques, and simple mindfulness tools, participants will learn how to release tension, improve focus, and calm the nervous system before performances. This is not a traditional yoga class but a practical session offering tools you can integrate into your daily practice routine and concert preparation.
This workshop is designed to create a welcoming space for everyone to explore movement and mindfulness in a way that honors their unique body and experience. While we’ll learn a variety of tools and practices, not every activity will be suitable for every participant. The instructor will do their best to offer modifications and alternative options to help each person participate safely and comfortably. We encourage you to listen to your body, make choices that feel right for you, and consult with your healthcare provider before beginning any new physical activity.
Who Can Join: Open to adult musicians of all instruments and experience levels.
Materials Needed: Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat. If available, bring yoga blocks and a strap or belt, as well as a pillow or towel for sitting on the floor (and as knee padding). You may also want a notebook and a pencil for taking notes.
