The Class G license is required when private investigators or private security officers are required to carry a firearm while performing their regulated duties. Initial training is 28 hours. A class D license is required in order to take this class. A certified instructor is present for the training. **There is an additional charge to qualify with a second weapon. What You Need to Wear & Bring to the Class: Your firearm and duty gear, as long as they are in good working order. The equipment will be inspected and approved by a firearms instructor before it can be used during the class. Factory ammunition for your firearm (at least 200 rounds). The class schedule is: Dec. 5 7:00am - 6:00pm Dec. 6 7:00am - 6:00pm Dec. 7 7:00am - 4:00pm Hip (duty) holster for your weapon. Long pants. No low cut or sleeveless shirts/blouses. During the class you may wear jeans or other casual attire. No shirts with offensive slogans or advertising. Protective eyewear. Hat/ball cap – for protection from flying brass on the firearms range from semi auto weapons. Comfortable footwear, no open toe shoes or sandals. Fluids to drink for recovery hydration – for outdoor range training Wet weather gear, since classes will be held rain or shine Any snacks that you may require. Sun block & bug spray. Upon successfully completing the course, you will be given proof of having completed the initial course to submit with the application, photograph, requisite fees and a full set of fingerprints.
