About this event
Join us for a transformative 11-day adventure through Japan! This program is designed for students aged 16 and up who are eager to explore the intersection of marine science, conservation and Japanese culture. This program offers students hands-on experiences that bring science to life! Splitting our time between Tokyo, Okinawa and Osaka/Kyoto,, we will also explore Japan’s rich culture through activities such as traditional tea ceremonies and visits to Japan’s historic temples and shrines. From discussions on Japan’s marine challenges, such as overfishing and the effects of whaling, to exploring the roles of communities in protecting natural resources, this program is designed to inspire meaningful engagement with ocean conservation.
