About this event
This course is designed for beginners who have limited or no exposure to the basics of French language and culture. It provides a comprehensive entry into French 1 focusing on essential vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation to develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students will engage in conversational practice, guided by fundamental grammar, to build foundational communication skills applicable to everyday situations. In addition to language acquisition, the course introduces the diverse cultures of French-speaking countries, offering students a richer understanding of the customs, traditions, and histories that shape the language. Through interactive activities, multimedia resources, and cultural discussions, students will gain an appreciation for the variety and vibrancy within the Francophone world. Upon successful completion of this course, students will enroll in French 1. Course Goals: Establish a solid foundation in French language skills for entry into French 1. Cultivate cultural awareness and sensitivity. Prepare for further study and interaction in French-speaking environments. Who should take this course: Students with limited or no prior knowledge of French; middle school students or students new to King who were recommended to take the course to solidify their foundational skills and understanding of the language.
