Learn to play the Great Highland Bagpipe. We'll cover the basic notes of the scale, several ornaments and the fundamentals of music notation and rhythm. The history of the bagpipes and the various tune types will be discussed and demonstrated. Practice chanter is required. A quality chanter may be purchased for approximately $80, and a recommendation for where to obtain it will be provided to registrants of the class prior to first class date once we are assured the class will run. About Travis: Travis began playing the bagpipes at age 10. Over the course of a piping career spanning three decades he has played at countless parades, weddings, funerals, parties and highland games. Additionally, he has performed extensively over New England and the eastern US playing bagpipes, tin whistle, guitar and singing with many folk and rock bands. He is a native Mainer and currently lives in Limington with his wife and four dogs.
