Hello! My name is Miss Cristin Kurtz and I am super excited to teach your students about competition dance! I am highly skilled in teaching various dance styles, including cheer, jazz, tap, contemporary, and hip-hop. I am also passionate about motivating and inspiring students to reach their full potential, and I deeply understand the importance of encouraging creativity and self-expression through dance. This is my 11th year as an instructor and second year as a dance coach at YSCP. This will be a brand new competition dance team. The plan is to have the dancers in uniforms and any other props that are needed for each routine they will learn. The dance team will compete in at least one competition. I will venture into local competitions and smaller performances as well. To cover the cost of some of these expenses, I will hold different fundraisers and other sponsored events. The parents/guardians will need to provide the remaining amount due. This will be communicated to you as soon as possible. Students in grades 4-8 are eligible to participate. The club will be on Wednesdays during both sessions so dance practice will end at 5:15 pm. We will be in the school and outside whenever the weather permits. Bio Hello! My name is Cristin Kurtz and I am a special education para in the middle school part of Young Scholars. The kiddos call me “Miss Cristin”. I have been teaching for 3 years now. I have a 5th grader and a new high scholar who just graduated from YSCP. I enjoy my job very much helping students get to where they need to be in a variety of challenges in life. I am a cheer coach of 10+ years and plenty of experience in the drama department. With my help, I will share any knowledge possible for the student to gain success in what they are trying to do.
