Description

Hand building is an ancient potter making technique that involves creating forms without the pottery wheel. This class will focus on slab building using pottery forms, textured rolling pins, underglaze transfers and sgraffito. Sgraffito (in Italian means "to scratch") is a decorative pottery technique to create contrasting patterns that reveals the clay underneath underglaze. All techniques will be taught from start to finish. No artistic experience needed.
