Taught by LIttle Yellow House Art This class blends drawing, ceramics, and narrative development in a unique hands-on experience. Students will dive into the exciting world of visual storytelling—from the first spark of a character idea to a fully realized narrative. Young artists will begin by designing their own original characters on paper, exploring personality, expression, and style. Then, they’ll bring their characters to life in three dimensions using hand-built ceramic sculpture techniques. Once their characters are fully formed, students will step into the role of storyteller. Using classic storyboard structure, they’ll plan and illustrate a short story with a clear beginning, middle, and end—just like animators and filmmakers do! Along the way, they’ll develop creative thinking, sequencing skills, and a deeper understanding of how stories come to life through art.
