Come out to play in the pool at Camp Butternut Springs! Bring your swimsuit, sunscreen, water bottle, and beach towel for a splash-tastic time! Upon arrival at camp, drive 5 mph to the second parking lot. Once parked, grab your swim gear and walk over to the pool to check in; then have your fun in the sun! The pool at Camp Butternut Springs ranges in depth from 3 feet to 10 feet (including a low diving board). Participants wishing to venture into the deep end will need to pass a swim check where they swim the width of the pool and back without touching the ground; then tread water for one minute. Pool accommodations include 16 individual changing rooms (including toilets, showers, and sinks), a covered seating area, and water fountains. Participants wishing to bring a bagged dinner may do so and can picnic on the grounds immediately following their swim time at the field shelter or parking lot shelter. Wandering around camp will not be permitted as summer camp will be in session. Food is not provided. Snacks and/or dinner brought from home should be eaten outside of the pool area. Please DO NOT bring nuts of any kind (peanuts, tree nuts, etc.). No food or glass will be allowed in the pool area. Like always, drugs and alcohol are also strictly prohibited. This program is designed for families or individuals with an adult chaperone. This is NOT a drop off event. Please follow Girl Scout ratios from Safety Activity Checkpoints.
