The Junior Pearls are a special sisterhood within Girl Scouts just for girls in grades 4 and 5 who are ready to shine through service, leadership, and community action. Named for the pearl, joining Junior Pearls symbolizes wisdom, growth, and strength. This program gives Junior Girl Scouts a dedicated space to dream big, dig into meaningful causes, and design service and civic engagement projects that reflect their passions. Whether working solo or as a team, Junior Pearls will have the freedom and guidance to lead change their way. What to Expect: • Brainstorm and launch service projects. • Explore civic action and how to make a difference in your community. • Collaborate with peers in a supportive, inspiring environment. • Get a head start on your Bronze Award. • Build confidence, leadership skills, and lifelong friendships Junior Pearl is more than a program, it's a launchpad for tomorrow’s changemakers! Meeting Schedule: Once every other month from October-June October 25: Induction at Vernon Hills Gathering Place December 4: Virtual meeting: We will discuss service, what it means, and how to start a project. February 3: Virtual meeting: We will discuss what was learned, project progress, and how to find community partners to help along the way. April 2: Virtual meeting: We will discuss project progress, project completion or continuation into a Bronze Award. June 6: Celebration at Joliet Gathering Place At each session, Junior Pearls will have the opportunity to learn and then practice important research and community building skills. Specifically, we will learn how to find issues, how to find groups already working to solve them, and how to use SMART goals to help complete a project. To register for only the induction, please select the Induction ticket option. To register for each session for the year, please select the Junior Pearl Full Year ticket option. This is a drop-off activity, but parents are welcome to attend the ceremony.
