The British Columbia Fiddle Orchestra (BCFO) is one of the province’s most spirited youth ensembles and the first youth fiddle ensemble in Canada.

Participants (Ages 12 – 18) can expect a high-energy journey into traditional and contemporary fiddle music from around the world. Under the leadership of renowned fiddler Daniel Lapp, participants develop ear training, improvisation, and ensemble performance skills—all in a fun, collaborative environment.
Founded in 1994, the British Columbia Fiddle Orchestra has launched the careers of many Canadian musicians and continues to inspire the next generation through dynamic rehearsals, community performances, and mainstage appearances at festivals and concerts, including Daniel Lapp’s Home for Christmas and Joy of Life shows.
Whether you’re new to fiddle music or a seasoned player looking for a new challenge, the British Columbia Fiddle Orchestra is a place to connect, grow, and play with joy.
Acceptance is by audition. Non-fiddlers are also encouraged to audition and may be invited to be part of the rhythm section.
