Who: Social Club (Criteria: Social Club is for individuals 19-40 who are able to participate in simple conversations, follow multi-step directions, have a clear understanding of dangerous situations (crossing the street, etc.) and visit the restroom independently. Appropriate behavior is mandatory. Language or actions of violent or sexual nature, are strictly forbidden.) What: Join FACT as we WALK IN THE VB Neptune PARADE at the VB Oceanfront. Streets lined with people, colorful floats in all shapes and sizes, larger-than-life balloons, marching bands… all of which is just a small snapshot of Neptune’s Grand Parade. Find yourself the best spot on the block as you enjoy the music and sights of the many parade units- including ours! Be sure to keep an eye out for King Neptune and his court! With a 16 block parade route, a bad spot is hard to find. The inside of the bus will be utilized as a place to retreat when overstimulated. Where: Drop off @ Planet Pizza (9th Street) 812 Atlantic Ave, STE 190 VB, VA 23451 Pick-up@ wherever bus is parked after the end of the parade. Exact location will be texted once we walk the parade, are parked, and undressing the bus- 34th street guessing. Parade is from 16-32 street. When: Saturday September 27, 2025 from 11:00am- 1:30pm or End of Parade Why: To provide social interaction and community engagement opportunities to teens and young adults with autism. How: Adult staff and peer volunteer chaperones will provide 1:6 supervision. Peer volunteers will also participate, but their primary purpose is to provide social interaction, not supervision. Registration: RSVP online a minimum of 48 hours prior to Social Club (please note that space is frequently limited and may be sold out prior to the 48-hour deadline.)
