Baylor TIP Camp for 4th-7th graders is a day camp option. Morning course offerings will run from 9am to noon, and afternoon courses run from 1:00 to 4:00pm. Lunch is included only with registration for BOTH morning and afternoon courses. Did you know that your kitchen is also a chemistry lab? And what could be better than research and experiments that you can eat? Good cooks often are careful chemists, using their knowledge of chemical properties and reactions, heat, moisture, and time to create foods that appeal to our human senses of smell, taste, sight, and pleasure. Learn the chemical reactions that create the “yum” in your favorite foods. Discover the multiple powers of eggs, burp some yeast, and then try your hand at making meringue, pretzels, and maybe slime. Pizzas, yogurt, dog treats, and edible art may all be on the menu—and in our class cookbook. Experiments never tasted so good (or not!).
