About this event
Ever wonder how engineers make sure products are perfect every single time—and what happens when they're not? In this hands-on course, students will step into the role of an engineer using Statistical Process Control—the essential toolkit engineers rely on to keep systems running smoothly and products meeting customer expectations. Using real-world statistical techniques (and real bags of Skittles), students will analyze whether each package has a truly random mix of colors and a consistent number of candies. Students will deepen their understanding of engineering statistics as they work with mean, range, standard deviation, control charts, normal distribution, and upper/lower control limits. This class is a colorful introduction to the data-driven thinking behind engineering success!
