About this event
Embark on a journey to develop a personal and lifelong art-making practice in a unique learning environment . This dynamic way to learn about art is designed to be flexible and will benefit people at every skill level. Students in this course connect and collaborate with several Maine-based artists, fostering an exceptionally supportive community of peers across generations. This is not just a group of individuals but a family of like-minded artists who will be there to encourage you. Together, we will learn to use an artist's mindset to make your thoughts work for you and not against you. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to showcase your work and participate in the Elm City Small Pressfest, raising funds for local families in need during the holiday season. This course will meet on Wednesdays from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Green Block and Studios, 19 Maine Street, Waterville, Maine 04901. It will run from September 24th to December 10th, 2025. There will be a few off-site visits, which we will discuss with you on the first day of class, and there will be no class on November 26th for the Thanksgiving holiday. For students who want to take this as a credit course toward their High School Diploma program requirement, you must meet with your Student Academic Coordinator at MMRACE.
