Color Mixing for Paintersw/Claudia RillingSaturday, May 17, 202510:00 am - 5:00 pmDuring this one-day color class students will learn how to skillfully mix oil paint through guided mixing exercises and how to better apply these ideas to one's own paintings. Through hands-on exercises, demos, and lectures, color will become easier to use and to understand. This class is geared towards the oil painter. Acrylic can be accommodated if one has a “stay-wet” palette set-up. WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR: Any oil painter at any level who would like to be more confident with color control and mixing Please come prepared with the specific items on the supply list. -Palette knife“A very flexible and easy to mix-with palette knife like this RGM Soft Grip Palette Knife, Yellow, No.50,RGR050” https://a.co/d/jcIiTe0-12x16 white paper palette or larger (do not get the gray paper palette)https://www.dickblick.com/items/blick-palette-paper-pad-16-x-20-50-sheets/ A few brushesRoll of paper towelsOdorless Mineral spirits in a jarMasking tapeGamblin or similar professional artist brand (ie Winsor Newtown), 37ML is plenty (make sure you have enough white):• Titanium white• Burnt umber• Ultramarine Blue• Sap Green• Alizarin Crimson• Cadmium Red light• Cadmium Yellow light• Avoid student grade paints like “Gamblin 1980” or “Winton” as the pigment is weakBring a few photo references of subjects that you’d like to paint, printed out.
