Join us for a 6-week instructional basketball league focused on skill development, teamwork, and good sportsmanship! This league is ideal for players of all experience levels. Boys and girls will play in separate leagues. 🗓 Season Details: * Practice begins: Week of September 15th * Games played: Saturdays (1–2 games per week) * Practice: One 1-hour session per week (day/time set by coach) 📋 Important League Info: * No end-of-season tournament (instructional focus) * Players grouped by skill level * No team or coach requests accepted * Out-of-district players welcome, but school-based teams from outside WISD are not allowed * Grades may play independently or be combined based on registration numbers * Final team placement is made by Community Education staff * Players will not be moved due to practice schedule conflicts * Registration fee includes a reversible game day jersey 🧑‍🏫 Want to Coach? We are looking for head and assistant coaches! * Submit an online volunteer application through the WISD website and email communityeducation@weatherfordisd.com to begin the process * All volunteers will be subject to a background check If selected as a head coach, you will receive: * One free child registration A virtual coaches meeting invite (announced at a later date) 📌 Approved head coaches must call or email Community Education to receive a one-time use coupon code to waive the registration fee. ⚠️ Additional Notes: * Game dates and locations are subject to change based on WISD gym availability * Jewelry is not allowed during practices or games * Medic Alert bracelets are permitted * Piercings must be removed — covering with tape or bandages is not allowed
