Calling all young chefs! Get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into the delicious world of culinary arts. Designed for Grade 1 and 2, this half-day program introduces campers to the fun and creativity of the kitchen while teaching them essential skills they can use for life! Throughout the camp, campers will have the opportunity to prepare tasty, kid-friendly, healthy snacks and explore the fundamentals of cooking in a safe, hands-on environment. From mixing and chopping to measuring, stirring, and decorating, each day will be an exciting new adventure as they discover what it’s like to be a chef. Campers will get the chance to participate in the various stages of creating the food - from prep to presentation! At the end of each session, campers will gather to enjoy the snack together, discuss the process and ways to improve their recipes. Who knows, there might even be some leftovers to take home! Whether you’ve already been helping in the kitchen or if this is your first time, everyone will leave with new skills, increased confidence, and appreciation for healthy eating. SWEET TREATS - Week 3, 7 In the "Sweet Treats" camp, campers will dive into the world of baking and sweet creations! What they’ll make includes muffins, fruit squares, crumbles, tarts, pies, cookies & ice cream, childhood favourite treats, and a Chocolate Extravaganza! Focused on measuring, mixing, and the science behind baking, campers will learn how to create a variety of delectable sweets from scratch. Special activities include expressing creativity by packaging several of their delicious creations into edible gifts for loved ones, making this a fun and memorable experience for all! This is a half-day program.
