Calling all young chefs! Get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into the delicious world of culinary arts. Designed for Grade 1 and 2, this half-day program introduces campers to the fun and creativity of the kitchen while teaching them essential skills they can use for life! Throughout the camp, campers will have the opportunity to prepare tasty, kid-friendly, healthy snacks and explore the fundamentals of cooking in a safe, hands-on environment. From mixing and chopping to measuring, stirring, and decorating, each day will be an exciting new adventure as they discover what it’s like to be a chef. Campers will get the chance to participate in the various stages of creating the food - from prep to presentation! At the end of each session, campers will gather to enjoy the snack together, discuss the process and ways to improve their recipes. Who knows, there might even be some leftovers to take home! Whether you’ve already been helping in the kitchen or if this is your first time, everyone will leave with new skills, increased confidence, and appreciation for healthy eating. AROUND THE WORLD- Week 3, 5 Campers will embark on a global culinary adventure, cooking up famous dishes from countries around the world like French crêpes, British fish n' chips, Italian pizza, Japanese sushi, and Mexican tacos. Each day, they'll explore a new food culture, discover global flavours, and create delicious dishes while learning about the history and traditions behind them. With fun activities like collecting stamps in their "World Food Passport," listening to music from each country, and even challenging their taste buds with unique snacks like Marmite on toast, this program promises a tasty and educational experience! This is a half-day program.
