Description
The 7.5 hours in class course will provide registrants with the knowledge to respond to emergencies in the home, community or workplace. A variety of topics are covered: how to access the EMS system; recognize and respond to airway, breathing and cardiovascular emergencies; bone, muscle, joint, head and spinal injuries; bleeding and shock; first aid for poisonings; environmental emergencies; and CPR/AED.

The following items must be purchased in order to participate: • 1 CPR pocket mask with a 1-way valve • 6 pairs of latex-free gloves • 2 roller gauzes • 5 triangular bandages • 10 gauze pads • 1 golf pencil • 1 silver mylar blanket.
You may choose to purchase a leadership kit ($38.99) containing these supplies at this facility or alternatively, you may purchase them on your own.
100 % attendance and participation are required.
Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing to the course. All required textbooks are included in course fee. Awards are issued to the candidate electronically through email. Certification of this award is for 3 years.
