Description

For Children 8-12 years who have completed Swimmer 9/ Star Patrol but are not eligible for Bronze Medallion.

Bronze Star develops swimming proficiency, lifesaving skill and personal fitness. Candidates refine their stroke mechanics, acquire self-rescue skills, and apply fitness principals in training workouts. Bronze Star is excellent preparation for success in Bronze Medallion and provide a fun introduction to lifesaving sport.

Completion Criteria:

• Attend and participate in 100 % of the course.

• Successfully demonstrate competency in required skills, activities and final evaluation.

Lifesaving - Bronze Star awards are mailed to successful candidates by the Lifesaving Society. Manuals recommended but not required for the course (available at the pool):• Canadian Lifesaving Manual - approximate cost $ 51.00

Candidates are encouraged to bring goggles and should be comfortable swimming 100m-150m continuously.
Pan Am Pool closes at 5:00PM for spectators. Parents/Guardians wishing to stay on site past 5:00pm are restricted to the lower lounge.
