About this event
Writing & Textiles: Weaving Stories with Words and Fabric (1 session) (Fall #1) Adult | All Skill Levels Instructor: Cynthia Amoah (Fall #1) Friday, September 26 6:00pm – 8:00pm In this workshop, participants will explore the powerful intersection of writing and textiles, drawing connections between the act of weaving and the process of constructing narratives. Through two separate writing prompts, participants will create distinct poems—perhaps one inspired by Margarita Vilshanetskaya’s work, and the second based on their own personal narrative. The magic happens through a final prompt of merging the two pieces, blending different threads of thought and finding a new, unique poem in the process. This blend imitates the way textiles serve as a visual language, evolving alongside and influencing the spoken and written word. FEE: $25 Master Classroom, Main Level Approx. Cost of Materials: $5
