Adventures in Hand Papermaking (2 sessions) Adults | Any Skill Level Instructor: Ron Shaull Thursday May 8th & Friday May 9th 10:00am – 5:00pm In this 2-day, hands-on workshop, learn how to transform natural plant fibers (cotton, corn husk, hemp and more) into flat sheets of beautiful paper using traditional low-tech Western papermaking methods – from pulping and sheet forming, to pressing and drying. Master a mould and deckle and explore artistic techniques such as laminations, veils, inclusions, pigments and knockouts. Create a stack of handmade paper to use as one-of-kind stationery, envelopes, and cards, or make unique material for your own bookmaking, printmaking, origami, collage and other visual arts.
