The Personal Essay and All That’s Left Unsaid (5 sessions) (Fall #1) High School - Adult | Intermediate Instructor: Claudia Owusu (Fall #1) Tuesdays September 9 – October 7 7:00pm – 9:00pm The word essay comes from the French word essayer, which means to try. Through collected personal archives of home videos, photographs, and more, we will speculate and mine the gaps left behind by time, distance and other hurts. This multi-genre course will utilize essay writing, poetry writing, and video editing to engage memory across all fronts, and guide our remembrance of who (and where) we come from, as well as who (and what) we hope to become.
